In spite of the name of this blog, my taste buds aren’t especially acquainted with the many different flavours I could indulge in around Sheffield. I’m terrible when it comes to trying new things, so most of the time when I’m eating out, I’ll just stick to what I know. I find that this is the best way to operate, because I hate feeling like I’ve spent loads of money on food that I don’t actually like. It means that more often than not, a day out includes KFC on a normal day or Nando’s if it’s a special treat.
Eventually I’m going to be able to expand. I hope to be able to tick all of the following off the list in the future:
1. Cosmo
Cosmo is a world buffet, meaning it’s somewhere you can get food from all around the world. And you can get as much as you want. It sounds amazing. I’ve heard great things about it and seems to be great value for money for what you can get. You can’t really get better than that now can you? With cuisine from all over the place in one location, I could really get lost in this. I’ll definitely head here for a special occasion.
2. Street Food Chef
I’m not fancy at all, so I’m very easily pleased. I’ve heard word about a Mexican place by the name of Street Food Chef which serves some pretty tasty-looking burritos, and I would love to be able to get my hands on them. They do mention an eating challenge on the website, but I don’t think it’s worth the effort of trying to devour 3.5lbs of burrito in an hour, no matter how tasty it may look.
3. Mama’s and Leonies
I should really try to expand my palette a lot more, but whenever I’m in a pizza mood, I’m more than likely going to head to Pizza Express. Pizza Hut would then be next on the list. However, I’ve heard a few times that Mama’s and Leonies is one of those spots that you have to try at least once, and it will probably be the reason you ditch going to the big brand chains. Well it’s on my list now, so there’s no going back – I’ll get around to it eventually and tell you what it’s like.
4. Reggae Kitchen
I’m really into my Caribbean food, and whenever I see curry goat and rice on a menu, I can’t resist. Reggae Kitchen is my top choice for this kind of cuisine. I’ve been to a Turtle Bay elsewhere in the country and although it was tasty, it didn’t have the homecooked vibe that I really enjoy. For that reason, I’d much rather see what an independent spot like this is like and literally go through all of my favourite dishes with them.
