Loxley Silver Band (“famous in these parts”) split the band in two during the festive season so that we can get round all the venues that want to hear us play – our friends at the Village Carols website keep track of us, but you can always check out where we’re going to be by looking at the Loxley Silver Band website at http://www.loxleysilverband.org.uk – we’re always booked up well in advance so if anybody wants the band to play at their venue please get in touch sooner rather than later (details on the website).

For me there is only one place where the Market should take place- Paradise Square. This would require long term planning. The current set up looks like the garden shed sales pitch that used to be on Shalesmoor. Kelham Island Christmas Market remains the premier event.

I visited the Chrismas Market yesterday in Sheffield 14th Dec 2011. I can honestly say it was definitely not worth the diesel. I have been to bigger village Garden Parties. What a contrast and disappointment to last year.

If it is a cost saving exercise then its worked, I didn’t spend a penny. Will not be bothering next year if its the same.
